Treatment Fees

As of January 2024, fees for individual therapy will increase to reflect the standard psychological rate of $235 per hour. Fees are paid either at the beginning of each session (cash, cheque, or credit cards are accepted) or prior to sessions by e-transfer. A receipt will be provided to you for income tax or insurance purposes.

MSP does not cover the fees of psychologists, however, many extended benefit plans cover a portion of psychological fees.

Costs incurred for therapy provided by a Registered Psychologist may be claimed as a health care expense on income tax.

Dr. Driscoll is a registered treatment provider for the RCMP, Veteran’s Affairs Canada, BC Emergency Health Services, and BC’s Crime Victim Assistance Program (direct billing is available for individuals who qualify under these services).

Consultation and Assessment Fees

The cost of specialized psychological assessments and consultations are determined based on the referral question and client need. These costs are determined following a discussion of the nature and extent of the assessment or consultation requirements.

Appointments

Therapy appointments are typically a 50-minute clinical hour (allowing the clinician time for associated paperwork and administrative tasks).

Therapy appointment frequency can be weekly, bi-weekly, or determined by the needs of the client in consultation with Dr. Driscoll.

24 hour cancellation notice is required, except in cases of emergency or unforeseen illness. Otherwise, a fee of half the cost of a full session will be charged.

Assessment appointment lengths vary based on the nature and extent of the assessment and will be determined in consultation and discussion with the client.
